The market that runs on light.
VANTA floats. There is no sun up here and no streetlight either — the whole fair is lit by lanterns somebody paid for and hung. Light isn't scenery. It's stock, it burns down, and it's the reason anyone can find your stall.
Nobody owns a pitch here.
You own however far your light reaches.
You walk in with 100 units of lamp oil. That's your whole business.

A full lantern lasts 12 minutes. Let it gutter and the crowd drifts on.
Lanterns belong to the fair, not to you. Once it's up, it's lighting whoever walks under it — and that is the entire reason this is multiplayer.
Topping up a stranger's lantern costs 20 oil and keeps their stretch of walkway alive — including the stretch you have to cross to get home.
Lanterns survive server restarts. A row you lit last night is still glowing when you come back, or the pitch you claimed was never really yours.
No PvP, no health bar. The only pressure is a burn rate that never stops, and a fair that gets quieter every minute nobody feeds it.
At forty metres under a lantern, detail is gone — only height and mass survive. So the roster is built out of shape first: the tall one, the stocky one, the round one, the stooped one, the strong one. You'll know who's at the next stall before you can see their face.

The whole backend is a single Node process on our own VPS — authoritative relay, HTTP API and database in one unit. No Supabase, no Railway, no serverless bill, and no API key sitting in your browser for anyone to read.
